APA Hotel Tokyo Shiomi-Ekimae opens
On 17 September 2009 (Heisei 21), the 706-room APA Hotel Tokyo Shiomi-Ekimae opened.
Wikipedia's article on Shiomi (Kōtō) gives 17 September 2009 as the opening date of APA Hotel Tokyo Shiomi-Ekimae. It has 706 rooms (Kankō Keizai Shimbun). During the COVID-19 pandemic it was used for a long period as a quarantine facility of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and on 19 July 2023, after a full renovation, it reopened as "APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Shiomi" with an outdoor pool (PR TIMES).
According to Wikipedia, in the 2010s growing numbers of foreign tourists and easy access to Tokyo Disney Resort brought one tourist hotel after another to Shiomi.
