Shiomi Church's present building is dedicated as "Mary of Ant Town"

On 1 June 1986 (Shōwa 61), the present building of Shiomi Church was dedicated and given the name "Mary of Ant Town".

The Tokyo Archdiocese writes that "the present church of Shiomi Church was dedicated on 1 June 1986, Pentecost Sunday, and came to bear the name 'Mary of Ant Town'". 1 June 1986 was a Sunday, but Pentecost Sunday that year fell on 18 May. A Mass for the 40th anniversary of the dedication was held in 2026.

Wikipedia's article on Satoko Kitahara gives 1 June 1985, which does not agree with the diocesan records. The diocesan newspaper still wrote "Edagawa Church" in November 1985 and "Shiomi Church" in November 1986, so the change of name from Edagawa Church to Shiomi Church probably came in between, around the time of the dedication.
