Catholic Edagawa Church (Ant Town Church) is founded

A chapel was built on No. 8 Reclaimed Land from the old timber of Senzoku Church, and the church began anew as Edagawa Church together with the people of Ant Town.

According to the Tokyo Archdiocese News of 1975, through the good offices of Cardinal Frings and Archbishop Doi, in Shōwa 35 (1960) a chapel was built from the old timber of Senzoku Church on "the island of garbage, No. 8 Reclaimed Land, now Shiomi-chō", and the church moved there together with the people of Ant Town and began anew as Edagawa Church. The archdiocese gives June 1960 as the month of its founding.

The church was called "Catholic Edagawa Church (Ant Town Church)" and was a branch church of Tsukiji Church. The "Arinko Nursery" was attached to it for the children of Ant Town and the surrounding area (it closed in 1977).
